Jeder kann Nein zu Gewalt sagen!

Aus einer einfachen Idee ist ein gemeinsames Herzensprojekt geworden: Als Vater und Sohn haben wir „Respekt statt Gewalt“ ins Leben gerufen, weil uns die zunehmenden Angriffe auf Polizei, Feuerwehr und Rettungsdienste nicht mehr losgelassen haben. Aus Gesprächen, Recherchen und persönlichen Eindrücken wurde Schritt für Schritt eine klare Mission: Wir möchten ein sichtbares Zeichen setzen, Aufmerksamkeit schaffen und Menschen dazu bewegen, Helfenden wieder mit Wertschätzung zu begegnen. Mit unserer Aktion wollen wir zeigen, dass jede und jeder dazu beitragen kann, Respekt stärker zu machen als Gewalt – im Alltag, auf der Straße und überall dort, wo Einsatzkräfte für unsere Sicherheit da sind.

Jeden Tag werden in Deutschland hunderte Einsatzkräfte beleidigt, bedroht oder körperlich angegriffen – allein im Jahr 2024 zählte das Bundeskriminalamt 46.367 Gewalttaten gegen Polizistinnen und Polizisten, insgesamt waren 106.875 Beamtinnen und Beamte betroffen. Seit 2015 ist die Zahl der registrierten Gewalttaten gegen Vollzugsbeamte um fast 40 Prozent gestiegen, die Zahl der betroffenen Polizeikräfte sogar um mehr als zwei Drittel. Auch Feuerwehrleute und Rettungsdienste geraten immer häufiger ins Visier: Bei den sonstigen Rettungskräften – etwa im Rettungsdienst oder beim THW – wurden 2024 mit 2.916 Opfern die höchsten Werte seit 2018 verzeichnet. Diese Entwicklung zeigt deutlich, dass Respekt und Rücksicht gegenüber denjenigen, die täglich für Sicherheit, Hilfe und Rettung sorgen, zunehmend unter Druck geraten.

Genau hier setzt unser Projekt „Respekt statt Gewalt“ an. Wir wollen sichtbar machen, was Zahlen allein nicht erzählen: die Belastung hinter jedem einzelnen Angriff, die Folgen für Betroffene und das Vertrauen in unseren Rechtsstaat. Mit Aufklärung, Prävention und einer klaren Haltung für Wertschätzung gegenüber Polizei, Feuerwehr und Rettungsdiensten wollen wir dazu beitragen, dass Helfen wieder ohne Angst möglich wird.
